Pocahontas man injured in morning crash
A Pocahontas man was hospitalized Wednesday morning following a crash near the Arkansas-Missouri border.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7:50 a.m. on Missouri Highway 21 South, 10 miles south of Doniphan in Ripley County.
Samuel M. Smith, 61, was traveling north when his 2006 GMC truck ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
Smith was taken by ambulance to Five Rivers Hospital in Pocahontas with moderate injuries.
According to the crash report, he was wearing a seat belt.
